She is desperate to see him, but he lives across the river. The river is filled with alligators, so that is not a chose. She goes to Sinbad, a river boat captain, who says in exchange for the ride she has to have sexual intercourse with him. She refuses at first and goes to her friend Ivan for help. He refuses to help her because he doesn't want to get involved. Then she believes that she has no chose but to have sexual intercourse with Sinbad, and that is what she does. When she reaches Gregory, she confesses her sins to him and he turns his back on her. Abigail then tells her friend Slug about Gregory dumping her. Slug goes to Gregory and beats him badly. Abigail thinks that Gregory got what he deserved.

Gregory seems like a nice guy. I don't think he is to blame for dumping Abigail. He felt betrayed by the woman he loved and who he thought loved him. On the other hand, if he really was in love with her, he would have heard her out. Then maybe his decision would have been different. I rated him a five.

When Abigail went to Ivan he didn't want to get involved, which was a good choice. He should have tried to give her advice on what to do about what to do in this situation. He could have told her to go to the police and file a complaint. If she didn't want to do that then it was her choice. He also could have encouraged her to wait those couple of days to go see Gregory. She probably wouldn't have listened because it seemed like her mind was made up. I rated him a 4.

Slug made a bad choice. He shouldn't have went to Gregory and beat him up. Gregory wasn't the one that cheated, Abigail was. He did nothing wrong. Slug had to be in love with Abigail for him to defend her honor as he did. Although it was the wrong choice, he thought that he was doing it out of love for her. She had him wrapped around her finger. Why didn't he go after Sinbad? He is the one that made her have sex with him. That is the one he should have gone after. I rated him a 3.

Sinbad was wrong for asking for sex for a ride across the river. He is supposed to be a businessman. He knew how desperate she wanted the ride, so he used it to get what he wanted. He could have asked her for something else like money or a favor. That would have been more appropriate. He violated the law and should have been punished for it. I rated him a
2.

Abigail is the one to blame for everything. She is just an evil person. First of all she did not have to take Sinbad's offer. She doesn't have much respect for herself to degrade herself like that. If she was as in love with Gregory as she thought she was she would have found a different way. She knew he wouldn't forgive her. She had a choice, but made the wrong one. She could have gone to Sinbad's superiors and reported him. She should have waited until the bridge was fixed or drove to see Gregory. The fact that she sent Slug to beat Gregory was just evil. She had no business playing on his love for her. She knew he would do anything for her. Abigail fell out of love with Gregory sooner than expected. I don't think she was that in love with him because of her actions. For her to laugh at the sight of the man she claimed to love being beaten is just cruel. I rated her a 1.

The Things You do for Love

The Alligator River Story

This story is about a woman named Abigal who is in love with a guy named Gregory. Choosing to be a homosexual is that individuals business. Just because they are gay it doesn't mean that they are bad people. Our society is known for putting down individuals because of their sexual preference. This country is all about tradition. That means that heterosexual relationships are okay and homosexual relationships are not. Who are we to tell these people what they can and cannot feel? Why is it that heterosexual individuals have a problem with homosexual individuals, but homosexual never make a big deal out of the way heterosexual live their life? You shouldn't hate someone because their beliefs are not the same as yours. This is not right.

Discrimination is a big thing in the world right now and has been for a while. When will it ever stop? Discriminating against someone because of their sexual preference is a violation of their rights. This is the reason why many people hide the fact that they are gay for so long. They feel that everyone is going to be talking about them and then they will be ashamed. If an employer doesn't hire someone because they are gay; they should be brought up on charges. Employers should only consider if the person can get the job done. In response to the example of the homosexual being a teacher: this is fine with me as long as he/she does what is expected of them and also do not influence or distract the students in any way. The people that need to be discriminated against are child molesters and predators. They are the ones who we need to keep away from our children; not people who choose to live a different life. Discrimination should have been included in the Ten Commandments. Maybe that would have made a difference or maybe not. Most people don't really follow those rules.

Communities are concerned about human rights and the will of the majority. When these two clash, the will of the majority always comes out on top. Human rights say you can be anything you want to be and the majority says it's wrong and you can't do it. The rights of individuals are not always taken seriously. On the other hand many people care a lot about what the majority has to say. The reason the majority rules is because many people don't want the society being mad at them versus a few gays. Many people are still stuck on tradition and believe that is the way it should be, but I don't think so. This all goes back to the perception of someone. If they look a certain way to you, then that is what they are to you. For example, if you see a gay person you automatically think he/she is a nasty person and you don't want to be around them. You won't know that for sure unless you get to know them. That is what everyone should start doing, getting to know a person before you assume.

Dangerous Matters

Topic: Hijack!

An airplane has been hijacked by terrorists, what are we to do. The terrorists wants a convicted criminal released or they will blow up the plain. If it was my decision I would come up with a plan to solve the problem without endangering the lives of the innocent people on the plane. I wouldn't grant them this request unless they really started killing people. Most of the time terrorists are crazy enough to blow theirselves up. If I decide to give them what they want for the safety of the innocent people, their will be a plan to get the prisoner back into custody. Eventually, when they get what they want they will let the people go. After they release them they should get blowed up on the plane. If not have a swat team bring them to justice.

The U.S. Counterterrorism Policy states that you should not make deals with terrorists. I am kind of both ways on this one. It is a good law but if the decision they make will endanger the lives of innocent people they made the wrong one. They should think about this before they make a move. They should also do any and everything possible to keep the innocent people safe. On the other hand, I really don't think they should let a convicted criminal back out on the street. Bringing terrorists to justice is another part of the policy. I agree one-hundred percent to this because terrorists should have to pay for their crimes. The most important policy is to isolate and apply pressure to states that sponsor terrorism. This is a great policy because if no one sponsored them they probably wouldn't have the things they need to carry out the terrorist attacks. The people who sponsor them should also be brought to justice.

There is a war going on now because of terrorist acts. I don't know the whole story because the government only tell you what they want you to know. They never explained why out of all the other countries they could of hit, they decided to come after the United States. There have been many rumors circulating, but you never know who to believe. Some believe that it was about oil and others believed that it was Prsident Bush's fault. I really don't know what to think. All I know is that he should have had a good reason to start a war. He should have had a good plan to win the war in a timely fashion. That wasn't the case because we are still at war right now. The troops are dying like flies. There is a large number of them that have died because of this war. When will it end. Bush is still sending more troops over there. (for what to die) I thought they were just supposed to be training the Iraqi police so they could protect themselves. I guess that isn't true. If they haven't gotten it together yet they never will.

Bush claimed that Sadaam Hussein and Ben Ladin were involved. They got Sadaam, but have not found Ben Ladin. How is this possible? Ben Ladin has been in the media several times, sending messages to them and they can't find him. There has been no more talk about him lately. Every now and then they get a video recording from him. I don't get this. At one time I think they said he was persumed dead. How can he be dead and still threaten this country.

Decisions

Determining what is right or wrong is different for everyone. I feel that I am a moral relativist because I like to assess the situation before I determine if it’s right or wrong.

Someone who had a bad childhood would probably think that the way their parents raised them was the wrong way. For example, if you were given no freedom, parents were always on you, or if they treated you bad or neglected you, you would probably think that they were too strict and it sometimes made you do things that you weren't supposed to do. To you the right way would have been to let you have your way and do whatever you wanted to do. You would have wanted your parents to be your friend not your parents. That isn't a good idea. Children often think that when their parents come down hard on them, it is because they are just being mean. That is not true. They just don't want any thing bad to happen to you.

Social security is another thing that many people don't agree on. The younger generation feels that the social security tax is wrong. The older generation feels that social security is right. The younger generation pays the taxes and the older generation benefit from it. Considering the workforce is mostly middle aged workers, paying others money out of your hard earned money isn't a good idea to you. With the government paying social security to citizens and non-citizens, the people paying social security might not have a chance to receive it. Anything could happen before it is time for them to get it. There might be anymore money left or some kind of bill might pass to stop it. I think that someone should pass a law that says whatever money comes out of your check for social security will go to a savings account or something until we are old enough to draw social security ourselves. That would be a good law for many people.

You can be right or you can be wrong about a situation. It is up to you to decide for yourself. I decide by thinking about the situation first. What are your views about right or wrong? What method would you use?

Judgement

Topic: Perception

Another word for judgement is an first impression. Some can be positive and some negative. Most of the time they are negative.

An example of an negative one is this, if you see someone wearing black clothes, nails, and hair. What do you usually think? That they worship the devil or are bad people. That might not be true, maybe they love the color black. An example of an positive one is this, if you see a person who is well dressed and neat. What would you think about them? That they are very intelligent and a nice person. That might now be the reason. So watch what you think about someone, because they may think the same about you.

Most judgement start to happen when you are starting school. Students judge others just because they want to fit into a certain group. An example is that if you friend doesn't like someone and picks on them, you are required to do the same. If you don't then they don't want to be your friend. This is going on all around the world. It has been for years. Although I think it will never stop it should. Everyone should be an individual, and be able to make up their own mind.

In today's society, you should be careful about what you say about someone. Today many people will take offense to what you say. There are consequences to these actions too. People will shoot, stab, or kill you over something you say about them. So be very careful about the person you say things about. That's why you shouldn't judge people you know nothing about. They could crazy or over the edge. You saying something mean about them my push them over.

People have their opinion about people and things but theirs no need to broadcast them. If you have and opinion that you know will hurt someone, please keep it to yourself. Many people have different judgements on topics that have been circulating lately, in the news and on television. An example is President Bush and the fact that he is sending more troops over seas. Some say it is a bad idea and others say it is a good idea for whatever reasons. I think it is an bad idea, because too many of our troops are dying and he just sending more to get killed. He needs to train the Iraq government to protect themselves. That's all I have to say about that subject

All About Me

My name is Sabria Stubbs. I am 23 years old. I have 3 kids. There names are Tahniyah (4), Chadiyah (2), and Isaiah (3 months). There are my world. I attended Thomas elem. for 5 years, Rumble Middle for 3 years, and Northside High for 4 years. I graduated in 2001. I waited until now to attend college. I am now attending Macon State College as an freshmen majoring in Nursing. I am working on an Associates Degree in Nursing. Maybe in the future I would like to become some better or higher. When I do achieve my Associates degree I will work a while to support me and my kids, then think about going back to school. I am a very quick learner. I am considered a nice person. I like to keep to myself at times, but enjoy company now and then. I don't have many hobbies. I like to interact with my children by playing games and reading them books. I also like to read myself. I have been reading mystery and romance novels lately. My goal right now is to be the best person and parent I can be for my kids.
